Cookies have always been one of my favorite desserts, but unfortunately, they were something I struggled to get right for a while. The first time I made cookies I left them in the oven a little too long. Luckily, they were still edible, just a little on the crunchy side. I didn't give up though, I kept trying to make them until I eventually was able to consistently get them right. I've made several different types of cookies, but these are by far my favorite so far and I hope y'all enjoy them just as much as I do!
The key to these is to pull them out of the oven when the edges turn golden, but the center is still soft. If you are searching for an added layer of nuttiness, try toasting your flour before making the dough, just make sure that it is completely cooled before using it.
Ingredients
2 and 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
2 sticks (8 oz. total) Butter, softened
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
2 large Eggs, room temperature
6 oz. (1/2 bag) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
8 oz. Chopped Pecans
Mix the Dry
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Whisk together flour and baking soda in a bowl.
Creaming the Butter
In a different bowl, beat the softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
Add the Wet
Add salt, vanilla, and eggs until well combined.
Add the Dry
Mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
Add the chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
Portioning and Baking
On a parchment lined cookie sheet, place about 1 Tbsp. of dough about two inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes.
Have Fun with It!
These chocolate chip and pecan cookies are a great treat for the whole family. This is something that kids can easily help out with as well. If you have any comments or questions, please leave them in the comments below! Find The Diner Carr on Facebook, Tiktok, and Pinterest!
